Find your public meetings, agendas
July 28, 2025
Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
Liberty, Long, McIntosh to court business together
Hundreds of Georgia communities have set up public agencies to promote their areas to would-be builders of factories, warehouses, or other businesses.
Liberty, Long and McIntosh counties are setting up another such agency, the Tri-95 Joint Development Authority.
Sure, residents usually don’t want any new commercial or industrial neighbors. But residents’ property tax bills generally don’t cover the cost of all the services that they get — counties, cities and schools need industrial and commercial taxpayers too to keep the lights on. Hence communities market themselves to industry, sometimes competing against the neighboring county, sometimes partnering with it.
Liberty, Long and McIntosh each already have a development authority pitching their individual merits.
But counties can and do create regional groups too. With the state of Georgia, a Bryan-Bulloch-Chatham-Effingham JDA bought and marketed the land that became the Hyundai plant. And that JDA administers some of the potential $2.1 billion in state and local subsidies for the company.
Tri-95’s first meeting is Thursday, July 31 at 9 a.m in Hinesville. The meeting is public.
Check out the public meetings in your community over the next two weeks on our list here. Let us know how we’re doing at staff@thecurrentga.org.

This list starts with an automated collection that does not involve AI. It is checked and edited by a human. But agencies may announce new meetings, change meeting times or cancel them, sometimes without any online notice. Some publish calendars in more than one place with different information. Some rely on Facebook posts which may require a login to read and cannot be collected automatically.
You may want to call ahead and verify the meeting time and place, especially for smaller agencies.
