Find your public meetings, agendas
September 16, 2024
Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
Cumberland Island belongs to whom?
Over on Cumberland Island, the National Park Service wants to know what the public thinks of its idea to exchange several tracts of public land to private owners in exchange for private land that would become part of the park.
The exact acreages and terms are still under negotiation, according to NPS information published in early September, though maps indicate the park would acquire about 373 new acres in exchange for its land.
Park staff will give a presentation and take questions at a virtual public meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. Instructions to join via computer or telephone are here. NPS is also inviting public comment via a form online or via mail through Oct. 6.
Other business continues as usual on the mainland. This list of public meetings for the next two weeks depends on what local governments offer on the internet. Some publish schedules and agendas days in advance for boards and authorities. And some do not. If there’s a board you’d like to see here, let us know, we’ll try to add it.

This list starts with an automated collection and is checked and edited by a human. But agencies may announce new meetings, change meeting times or cancel them, sometimes without any online notice. Some publish calendars in more than one place with different information.
You may want to call ahead and verify the meeting time and place, especially for smaller agencies.
