County to hear from longtime St. Simons marina lessees
The private club that manages St. Simons Marina on behalf of the public is set to give a presentation Tuesday to their landlord, the Glynn County Commission.
The county approved $5 million for repairs to the marina this year — even though critics of the private St. Simons Boating and Fishing Club say the organization runs the facility like a ‘good ole boys’ club, reports The Current’s Jabari Gibbs. The club’s finances top the agenda for the county commission work session Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.
City councils, county commissions, school boards and other public bodies schedule work sessions when some topic merits discussion but there’s no immediate need to vote on anything. Work session presentations are part of the public record; so are agendas and meeting minutes.
