Find your public meetings, agendas
February 16
Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
When only part of the public is involved
Glynn County’s long-overdue rewrite of county building rules will be up for a county commission vote this spring — but Glynn relied on recommendations from a team of mainly developers and real estate agents meeting behind closed doors, The Current’s Jabari Gibbs reports.
When elected officials meet, Georgia law requires their meetings be open to the public. But selected insiders can still meet — and as long as there’s no quorum of elected officials present, there’s no open meeting requirement. It’s legal, but it also risks undermining trust in the process.
Meanwhile, check out our list of public meetings covering the next two weeks to see what your local government is doing in public. Let us know how we’re doing at staff@thecurrentga.org.

This list starts with an automated collection that does not involve AI. It is checked and edited by a human. But agencies may announce new meetings, change meeting times or cancel them, sometimes without any online notice. Some publish calendars in more than one place with different information. Some rely on Facebook posts which may require a login to read and cannot be collected automatically.
You may want to call ahead and verify the meeting time and place, especially for smaller agencies.
