Find your public meetings, agendas
July 20, 2026
Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
Humans meet for ocean inhabitants
There are no voters in Gray’s Reef, no mayor, no owners, no zoning. Few people visit the federal marine sanctuary about 19 miles off Sapelo Island, where the sandy ocean floor ecosystem sustains species from corals to right whales.
But it has public advocates. The Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council is the public’s way to learn in detail about what’s going on in the aquatic community and to provide advice and recommendations to sanctuary management.
Its quarterly public meeting is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22 at the sanctuary’s Ocean Discovery Center at 340 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Savannah. (Or tune in via webinar.)
The agenda includes an update from the sanctuary superintendent on ongoing programs and discussions on its management plan.
To learn yet more about our offshore sanctuary, Gray’s Reef’s newsletter and social media are available all the time. Or check out diving and fishing access, consider volunteering or visit the Ocean Discovery Center.
Back on land, our meeting calendar covers local government meetings over the next two weeks. Send staff@thecurrentga.org a selfie from any meeting on this list and we’ll send you a t-shirt from The Current GA.

This list starts with an automated collection that does not involve AI. It is checked and edited by a human. But agencies may announce new meetings, change meeting times or cancel them, sometimes without any online notice. Some publish calendars in more than one place with different information. Some rely on Facebook posts which may require a login to read and cannot be collected automatically.
You may want to call ahead and verify the meeting time and place, especially for smaller agencies.
