Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
Assistance for hurricane evacuations
Coastal Georgians who will need paratransit or similar services to leave home when the next hurricane comes can register now for a ride via their county public health department.
It’s a service for folks who need assistance or powered equipment for activities of daily living and who don’t have family, friends or neighbors who can safely get them out of town.

Every county has a public health department that’s part of the Georgia Department of Public Health. Local elected officials appoint most of the county board members. Check county board websites for info on health services, from immunizations to community baby showers to emergency preparations.
Coastal county health departments each hold four public meetings a year — McIntosh’s is next, on Aug. 27; Bryan’s meets next week.
