Financial pressures on your city

The jargon of city, county or school board finances looks bewildering:  fund balances, grant awards, matching funds, contingency, special services, post-employment benefits. But we’re here to help.

“Municipal finance runs on a complex patchwork of grants, loans, taxes, bonds, and fees. Failing infrastructure plus rising costs for employee healthcare and pensions are driving cities both large and small to the brink of collapse,” explains The Current GA’s Robin Kemp in a review of Walthourville’s finances.
