Welcome aboard! Here’s your  list of public meetings and agendas for the next two weeks to help you follow the work of local government officials you’ve elected.

Thank you for your feedback and questions so far and as always, if there’s a board or body you’d like to see on this, let us know and we’ll try to add it.  Our list depends on what governments publish on their websites. If the place has an up-to-date website, we’ll have an up-to-date meeting list.  If the government’s website lags, try emailing the board’s clerk — some can send email notifications. 

Savannah Civic Center open house

Savannah has a new arena and a standing question: what to do with the city’s older Civic Center.  The vintage complex in the Historic District includes the Martin Luther King, Jr. Arena and Johnny Mercer Theater.   The city is pitching a plan — demolish the arena, renew the theater and build a municipal office. 

And Savannah is doing what local governments sometimes do with big public development questions: it’s holding public open houses.  Anyone can stop in and see proposed plans, speak to city staff about them and give feedback. The last Savannah Civic Center open house is Monday, May 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  It’s at the Armstrong Center, 13040 Abercorn St.
