Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
How to divide limited money?
Each link on this list points to some shared public questions that our neighbors, communities and our country are trying to answer.
For example, take housing. Even if Brunswick’s public housing agency doubled the number of units it owns, it still couldn’t get through its thousand-family waiting list, The Current’s Jabari Gibbs found in a monthslong look at the agency.
But neither Brunswick nor any other place could choose to double its clientele. Most public housing agencies’ funds come from the federal government. And nowhere is there ever enough money to maintain publicly owned housing or grant vouchers to help people pay rent elsewhere.
In this tough place, Brunswick’s housing authority is considering work requirements and making clients pay a bigger portion of the rent — each family would get less help, but on the other hand more families could possibly get into a home.

Some publish calendars in more than one place with different information. Some rely on Facebook posts which may require a login to read and cannot be collected automatically.
You may want to call ahead and verify the meeting time and place, especially for smaller agencies.
