GLYNN COUNTY
CommUNITY Outreach: Enjoy a fun-filled day of free, family-friendly activities, including games, a book giveaway, bounce houses, music, dancing, health screenings, and free clothes. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 30 at Coach Otheler Speakman Park (formerly Orange Square): 2216 Reynolds St. If you’re interested in volunteering or participating, email fharris@cityofbrunswick-ga.gov to learn more.
Feel Good Fest 5K: Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or simply looking for a reason to get active, this event welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels. The scenic route through Downtown Brunswick celebrates healthy living and brings the community together to support local wellness businesses and organizations. Along the course, participants can enjoy music, encouragement from local partners, and a festive atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Feel Good Festival. The event will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept 5. Registration closes at 8 p.m. on Sept 4.

Ride the rails: Short train rides at Savannah’s Georgia State Railroad Museum are Fridays-Sundays hourly from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Train ride tickets are on a first come, first served basis. Wine and sunset: Jubilee Pour of Liberation, a part of the 2026 Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival will open at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Bethesda, 9520 Ferguson Ave., Savannah. General admission tickets for $50 are available for people ages 25 and older for food, wine, spirits and live entertainment. Tickets in advance only at SavannahJuneteenthFestival.com
Free rain barrels: The City of Savannah is giving away rain barrels through Sept. 2. The giveaway takes place from 4-7 p.m. at Jewish Education Alliance, 5111 Abercorn St., on Thursday, Aug. 27; Windsor Forest Community Center, 414 Briarcliff Circle; Monday, Aug. 31; Tatemville Community Center, 333 Coleman St., on Tuesday, Sept. 1; Hudson Hill Community Center, 2227 Hudson St., Wednesday, Sept. 2. Additionally, customers may apply for and receive a stormwater utility fee credit once a rain barrel is installed.

CAMDEN COUNTY
Register or check your vote: The Woodbine Public Library, 103 E. 8th St. in Woodbine will offer a voter registration training session at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, guided by the Interim Director of the Camden Elections Board Rockney Carter for those wanting to help voters register. Any Camden County library can help citizens wanting to register electronically by going to My Voter Page. Paper registration forms must be done accurately and delivered to the local Camden Election Board (rather than mailing to the state as addressed, as time is short) to be sure the voter is listed electronically on the Camden voter roll by the Nov. 7 election day.
Dog stories: Camden author Barbara Ryan will sign copies of her new children’s book “Good Puppy finds a Family” from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept, 4, at Once Upon a Bookseller, 207 Osborne St. in St. Marys.

Walthourville food giveaway: The City of Walthourville and Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia will host a food giveaway from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Aug. 28, at City Hall Parking Lot, 222 Busbee Road, Walthourville. Adopt a Stream training: Become a community water quality monitor. Once certified, you can adopt sites convenient for you to monitor monthly and put your new skills to work protecting our waterways. Bring a water bottle, note pad and pen. Be prepared to be outdoors for the field portion of the training and wear clothes that can possibly get a little messy. ALONG THE COAST
Looking for a new job? The Regional Industry Support Enterprise (RISE) will host an eight-county (Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Liberty and Screven) job fair 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Enmarket Arena, 620 Stiles Ave., Savannah. The RISE Job Palooza is the largest multicounty hiring effort in the Savannah region, offering job seekers access to a wide range of career opportunities under one roof. Last year’s event had 124 employers actively hiring and attracted more than 2,400 job seekers. The job fair is open to all job seekers. There are no parking fees at the arena.
The first 300 job seekers will receive a voucher good for a meal that day at Enmarket Arena. To receive, job seekers will need to complete a short survey. More information including companies that are scheduled to attend can be found at risesavannah.com/jobpalooza
