A noon Saturday protest advertised as a “Free Palestine” rally attracted about 200 marchers who gathered in to protest the war in Gaza and others who came to support Israel.

Visual journalist Justin Taylor captured the march that started at Johnson Square, moved to Broughton Street, up Abercorn to Reynolds Square and to Bay Street and City Hall.

The Savannah Police Department mounted patrol watched as protesters gathered in Johnson Square.

Onlookers, including one driver in a pickup truck who attempted to push through the crowd, showed support or lack of it as the crowd moved past. Protesters were met in Johnson Square with posters taped to benches bearing photos of kidnapped Israeli children.
