Tyler Harper is the current agriculture commissioner and has held the role since being elected in 2022. He previously served as a Republican state senator from 2013 to 2022, where he chaired a committee focused on legislation dealing with the state’s natural resources and environment. Harper is a seventh-generation farmer who lives in Ocilla.
Katherine Juhan-Arnold
Democrat
Katherine Juhan-Arnold is the Democratic candidate running for agriculture commissioner. Juhan-Arnold, who has no prior experience in political office, has held a variety of roles in infrastructure and information technology. Arnold is the founder of Baby Katie’s Pharm and Kitchen, a nonprofit farm that brings fresh produce to low-income communities and hosts agricultural educational programs. She lives in Snellville.
