The Golden Koi Lion Dance Association, founded by three high school and college students, has been practicing for months to perform a traditional lion dance at the Lunar New Year celebration at the Chùa Cát Tường Buddhist Temple in Garden City, in order to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck and prosperity into the new year.
