Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
Airports, traffic, recreation and more
If you’re ready to do more than attend a public meeting — but running for office is too much — consider applying for a city or county board that matches your interest or expertise.
Volunteer public boards help run or oversee local government in every community in Georgia.
Liberty County is seeking residents who want to contribute to work on child welfare, community planning, elections and voter registration, according to its public notice soliciting resumes for three public boards.
Larger local governments, like Savannah’s, may post openings online. If you can’t find vacancy listings online, ask your city council or county commission clerk or your elected official for a list of vacancies.
Some boards are more active and powerful than others.Development and airport authorities oversee decisions that involve millions of dollars. Community advisory boards may have to yell to be heard at all.
