Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
Voting preps
If you are reading this, you are probably registered to vote. In Georgia, voter registration comes with citizens’ drivers licenses.
But it doesn’t hurt to check at the state’s official My Voter Page. Read more from our partner newsroom Georgia Recorder on what to do if your info is out-of-date or incorrect. The registration deadline is Oct. 5.
Meanwhile, county election boards have their own list of things to do to get ready for early voting and Nov. 3 Election Day.
Camden posted notice of a typical piece of business: a public test of voting machine accuracy. That starts Tuesday morning.
But over in Chatham, the election supervisor hired about seven months ago won’t be part of this year’s work. Brook Schreiner handed her resignation to the county election board Sept. 14, The Current GA‘s Craig Nelson reports. Former election supervisor Billy Wooten will return to his old job at least for now.
Every county has an election board and its meetings are public. If you’re looking for election board schedules but can’t find them, let your county know and let us know at staff@thecurrentga.org.
