Welcome aboard! This is a list of public meetings and agendas to help you follow the work of officials you’ve elected.
Seeing judges at work
The work of the judicial branch of government is open to public inspection, from local traffic court to the federal courthouse in Savannah.
Anyone can go into a courthouse and watch proceedings. Glynn County, for example, makes it easy to plan a visit by publishing superior and state court calendars. If there’s nothing online, call or email the court’s clerk for a copy of calendars.
Each courthouse’s public computers provide a free way to view its filings and orders. From work or home, there’s a paywall. Pacer has federal courts; Peachcourt hosts many Georgia courts’ records.
If you want to know more about the judiciary, check out the September 17 Constitution Day Town Hall hosted by The Current GA and Keep Our Republic’s Article III Coalition. Together, we’ll explore the principle of separation of powers and the balance between the branches of government. The panel features three distinguished former federal judges who bring decades of perspective from the bench.
